Rev Philip Wain, Rector of the Lea Group, has been appointed as Ecumenical Chaplain to Gainsborough House, approved in November 2009. Philip enjoyed his first visit on January 21st 2010 to have lunch with the Thursday Day Centre and to have a tour of Gainsborough House.

At Hemswell Court, on 28 April 2010,at an evening buffet hosted by The Rotary Club of Gainsborough, the Chairman of Gainsborough House was presented with the Senior Citizenship Award for 2010. The citation reads that the Award is, "for his service to the citizens of Gainsborough & District in numerous ways. Through his work with The Friends of Gainsborough Old Hall, at Gainsborough House and as a Governor to various schools."
